Columbus Community Hospital named in The Chartis Center's 2021 Top 20 Rural & Community Hospital List
(COLUMBUS, Neb.) – April 6, 2021 Columbus Community Hospital (CCH) has been named one of the Top 20 Rural & Community Hospitals in the United States. CCH was the only hospital in Nebraska included on the list.
“We are so honored to have received this recognition,” said Michael Hansen, FACHE, CCH president and CEO. “It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of our physicians, staff and volunteers, and proof of our hospital’s commitment to providing high-quality patient care.”
The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) announced the 20 highest-ranked Prospective Payment System (PPS) hospitals in the country based on an evaluation by the Chartis Center for Rural Health. The selected hospitals are identified through the Hospital Strength INDEX®, the most comprehensive and objective assessment of U.S. rural PPS hospital performance.
The determining factors for the top 20 rural and community hospitals were based on eight indices: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, costs, charge and financial efficiency.
These rural and community hospitals will be recognized during NRHA’s Rural Hospital Innovation Summit, a virtual event, on May 6.
